A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's OCFS2 filesystem was resolved that involved improper validation of orphan slots during inode read operations. Corrupted orphan slots could lead to out-of-bounds memory access and use-after-free conditions. The issue was fixed by adding validation checks to reject corrupt orphan slot metadata during inode validation.
