CVE-2024-50026 is a medium-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's wd33c93 SCSI driver. A regression introduced by a recent commit caused the driver to use a stale scsi_pointer value, leading to a kernel oops in the wd33c93 interrupt handler. The issue arises because the scsi_pointer was initialized from hostdata->connected, which is not valid during selection. The fix involves obtaining the current scsi_pointer from hostdata->selecting instead.
