In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: FCP: fix OOB write in fcp_meter_ctl_get() fcp_ioctl_set_meter_map() bounds… (CVE-2026-74640)CVE-2026-74640 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel ALSA subsystem's FCP driver allowed an out-of-bounds write in the fcp_meter_ctl_get() function. The issue arose because the user-supplied Level Meter map size was bounded by 255, but the actual storage array only supported 128 elements, leading to writes beyond allocated memory. This could be triggered by reading controls on /dev/snd/controlC0 after an oversized map was installed, which requires CAP_SYS_RAWIO. The vulnerability has been fixed by bounding the map size to the ABI limit and adding proper bounds checks in the store loop.
