In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ntfs: sanitize MFT references returned from ntfs_lookup_inode_by_name()… (CVE-2026-72188)CVE-2026-72188 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's NTFS driver was resolved by sanitizing Master File Table (MFT) references returned from the function ntfs_lookup_inode_by_name(). The function previously could return error-marked MFT references without proper validation, allowing crafted NTFS images to cause callers to misinterpret corrupted metadata as a pseudo-error code. The fix normalizes all error-marked MFT references to a consistent error value, preventing misuse of invalid data.
