A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's nxp-sar-adc driver allowed a division by zero error in the write_raw function. This occurred when a user wrote zero or a negative value to the sampling_frequency sysfs attribute. Additionally, an unsigned integer underflow could occur when the computed cycle count was smaller than a defined constant, causing a wraparound to a large value. The issue has been resolved by adding validation checks to prevent these conditions.
