A high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's smbdirect component was resolved. The flaw involved improper teardown order on the rdma_accept_failed error path in smbdirect_accept_connect_request(), where memory pools were destroyed before the queue pair (QP) was properly drained. This caused outstanding receive I/O objects to remain during slab cache destruction, leading to a NULL-pointer dereference and potential kernel instability or crash.
