CVE-2024-54494 is a medium severity race condition vulnerability affecting multiple Apple operating systems including iPadOS, watchOS, visionOS, tvOS, and macOS variants. The flaw allows an attacker to create a read-only memory mapping that can be written to, potentially leading to integrity violations. Apple has addressed this issue with additional validation and released fixes in versions iPadOS 17.7.3 and 18.2, watchOS 11.2, visionOS 2.2, tvOS 18.2, macOS Sequoia 15.2, macOS Ventura 13.7.2, and macOS Sonoma 14.7.2. There are no known exploits in the wild at this time.
