A vulnerability in the Linux kernel ALSA portman2x4 driver was resolved by adding a sanity check for the card index during probe. The driver previously did not validate negative card index values, which could lead to out-of-bounds access of internal arrays. This flaw was addressed by correcting and warning on invalid card index values.
