A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's cxl/ras component involving an out-of-bounds read of the AER register block has been resolved. The function cxl_rch_get_aer_info() previously read beyond the physical AER capability registers due to a mismatch between the software struct size and the actual hardware register size. This caused out-of-bounds reads and potentially unsafe memory access. The fix bounds the read to the physical register size and zeroes the destination to ensure deterministic software-only fields.
