A remote code execution vulnerability was found in libaom, the reference AV1 codec implementation. (CVE-2026-56211)CVE-2026-56211 0 A remote code execution vulnerability (CVE-2026-56211) exists in libaom, the reference AV1 codec implementation. The issue arises from insufficient bounds validation in the AV1 encoder's SVC layer ID control, allowing crafted video frames to overlap internal encoder structures. Exploitation requires the target to use libaom with SVC encoding enabled and accept attacker-supplied video frames. Red Hat has released security updates addressing this vulnerability in their Hardened Images RPMs and AI application platform packages.
