The issue involved improper validation of a 7-bit connector number field supplied by the Platform Policy Manager (PPM), which was used to index an array without bounds checking. This could allow a buggy or malicious PPM to cause out-of-bounds memory access. The fix rejects connector numbers that are zero or exceed the reported number of connectors before accessing the array.
