COVESA Open1722 versions up to 0.9.2 contain a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability. This flaw arises from improper bounds checking in the avtp_to_can() function, which allows unauthenticated remote attackers to send crafted UDP datagrams with more than 15 ACF-CAN messages. Exploiting this can lead to arbitrary code execution or denial of service due to corruption of adjacent stack memory.
