A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's memory control group (memcg) subsystem was resolved by ensuring the proper call to mem_cgroup_iter_break() in the damon_sysfs_memcg_path_to_id() function. The issue involved leaking a cgroup reference due to missing this call when breaking an iteration loop. This flaw does not impact confidentiality or integrity but can cause an availability impact. The vulnerability has been fixed in the Linux kernel source. No known exploits are reported in the wild.
