A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Ceph filesystem component allows a malicious or compromised Ceph Metadata Server (MDS) to cause a buffer overflow in the NFS export get_name path. This occurs because the dentry name length is not properly checked against the maximum allowed buffer size (NAME_MAX) before copying, leading to an out-of-bounds write. The issue affects scenarios where a CephFS mount is re-exported over NFS. The vulnerability has been resolved by adding a function that rejects overly long names before copying.
