A heap out-of-bounds read vulnerability was fixed in the Linux kernel's platform/x86 hp-bioscfg driver, specifically in the sk_store() and kek_store() functions. These functions incorrectly passed the original write size instead of the adjusted size after stripping a trailing newline, causing a one-byte out-of-bounds read. The issue was confirmed by KASAN and fixed by correcting the size parameter passed to hp_wmi_perform_query().
