A high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's RDMA/erdma subsystem has been resolved. The flaw involves improper handling of Queue Pair (QP) references during Asynchronous Event (AE) and Connection Manager (CM) processing, which could lead to use-after-free conditions. Specifically, fatal AE QP events and iWARP CM paths load QPs from dev->qp_xa and reference them outside the xarray lock, while erdma_destroy_qp() may free QP resources prematurely. The fix involves acquiring a reference under the xarray lock and removing the QP from the xarray before releasing the destroy-path reference to prevent new lookups during destruction.
