In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: SOF: ipc3-control: Validate size in snd_sof_update_control In… (CVE-2026-72261)CVE-2026-72261 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ASoC SOF ipc3-control component was resolved. The issue involved a missing bounds check in the snd_sof_update_control() function, where firmware-provided data could cause a memcpy operation to write beyond the allocated buffer if inconsistent size values were present. This could lead to memory corruption. The fix added a bounds check to ensure the number of elements fits within the allocated space before copying.
