A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's rtl8723bs staging driver allowed out-of-bounds (OOB) reads in the is_ap_in_tkip() function due to missing bounds checks when iterating over Information Elements (IEs). This flaw could cause the kernel to read beyond the intended buffer when processing certain WLAN IE headers and payloads. The issue has been resolved by adding proper header and payload length validations to prevent OOB reads.
