A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's NTFS driver was resolved that involved improper handling of Master File Table (MFT) Logical Cluster Numbers (LCNs) from the NTFS boot sector. The issue arose because the MFT and MFTMirr locations, stored as unsigned 64-bit values, were incorrectly parsed as signed 64-bit integers. This could allow crafted values to bypass upper-bound checks and cause out-of-bounds memory access. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 09/11/2026, 21:31:33 UTC Added: 09/12/2026, 00:42:46 UTC |
