CVE-2026-89811 is a high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's AMD kernel fusion driver (amdkfd) related to the Micro Engine Scheduler (MES). The issue arises because MES does not perform a heavy-weight TLB flush after unmapping queues, unlike the hardware scheduler (HWS). This can cause race conditions where in-flight DMA descriptors access unmapped memory, leading to page faults and GPU queue hangs during shared virtual memory (SVM) page migration. The problem was observed as GPU compute queue hangs on gfx1151 hardware with XNACK mode enabled. The fix involves adding explicit TLB flush calls after MES queue eviction and suspension to ensure memory accesses are properly flushed before memory is freed or migrated.
