The flaw involves freeing an unsubmitted command, causing a reference count underflow and potential resource leak. A pvSCSI guest can exploit this by submitting requests with invalid grant references or unknown request types, leading to command tag leaks and possible LUN stoppage. Under certain kernel configurations, this can cause a host panic. The fix introduces a helper function to correctly free command tags and prevent reference count underflow.
