CVE-2024-46739 is a medium severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's uio_hv_generic driver. It involves a NULL pointer dereference in the hv_uio_rescind function caused by incorrect handling of primary VM Bus channels. The flaw occurs because the primary_channel pointer is always NULL for primary channels, but the rescind callback is intended only for these primary channels. This issue has been fixed by correctly retrieving the device object from the parent for primary channels.
