The issue occurs because early initialization calls syscon_regmap_lookup_by_compatible, which allocates memory before the memory management subsystem is initialized, causing a NULL pointer dereference or memory allocation failure. This can lead to kernel crashes (Oops) during boot. The problem is compiler-dependent and has been observed with gcc versions 10.x, 11.x, and 13.x.
