In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: efi: Allocate runtime workqueue before ACPI init Since commit 5894cf571e14… (CVE-2026-64183)CVE-2026-64183
0

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel related to EFI runtime calls and ACPI initialization has been resolved. The issue involved the allocation timing of a runtime workqueue used for ACPI PRM calls, which could lead to NULL pointer dereferences if PRM accesses occurred before the workqueue was allocated. The fix involved moving the workqueue allocation to an earlier initialization phase to ensure EFI runtime calls are accessible during ACPI initialization.
