In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fbcon: fix NULL pointer dereference for a console without vc_data… (CVE-2026-74424)CVE-2026-74424 0 A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in the Linux kernel's framebuffer console (fbcon) subsystem has been resolved. The issue occurs when fbcon_new_modelist() dereferences a NULL vc_data pointer for a console that has a mode set but no associated vc_data. This can lead to a kernel crash or denial of service. The fix ensures that fb_display[i].mode is only set when the console has a valid vc_data and clears the mode appropriately during deinitialization.
