CVE-2024-58090 is a medium severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel scheduler where rescheduling can occur when interrupts are disabled under certain scheduling models (PREEMPT_NONE and PREEMPT_VOLUNTARY). This causes a warning due to the scheduler enabling interrupts after a context switch in an invalid context. The issue arises from a task wakeup during syscore_suspend()/resume() callbacks that sets the NEED_RESCHED flag, leading cond_resched() to invoke schedule() improperly. The vulnerability does not affect the PREEMPT_FULL model. A fix has been implemented by adding a check in cond_resched() to prevent rescheduling when interrupts are disabled.
