A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ASoC Intel AVS component involves out-of-bounds access due to improper indexing of the init_configs array. The issue arises when an ID equal to or larger than the number of init_configs is used, leading to potential memory access violations. The code has been refactored to fix this by changing how config entries are accessed, eliminating the unsafe indexing. This vulnerability has a medium severity rating with a CVSS score of 5.5 and impacts specific Linux kernel versions.
