In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs: refuse O_TMPFILE creation with an unmapped fsuid or fsgid vfs_tmpfile()… (CVE-2026-72379)CVE-2026-72379 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's vfs_tmpfile() function allowed creation of O_TMPFILE files with unmapped filesystem user or group IDs (fsuid or fsgid) on idmapped mounts. This could result in temporary files being created with invalid ownership (uid_t)-1, violating filesystem ownership guarantees. The issue was fixed by adding a check to refuse O_TMPFILE creation when the caller's fsuid or fsgid does not map into the filesystem's user namespace.
