A vulnerability in the Linux kernel ALSA 6fire USB MIDI driver allowed unbounded reading of MIDI event data from a device. The driver used a device-supplied length byte without bounds checking, potentially causing out-of-bounds reads from a 64-byte buffer. This flaw could lead to stale or excessive data being forwarded to userspace. The issue was discovered and fixed by bounding the MIDI event length and validating the actual transfer size.
