A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's fbdev driver for ssd1307fb has been resolved. The issue involved synchronous I2C transfers occurring from damage callbacks, which run in atomic context with preemption disabled, leading to scheduling while atomic and potential system instability. This was observed on RK3566 systems and caused kernel warnings and watchdog failures. The vulnerability has been addressed by deferring I2C transfers from these damage callbacks.
