A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's HID universal-pidff driver was resolved. The issue occurs when force-feedback initialization fails after the device has started, leaving the device started but with no driver attached. This causes the hidraw character device to remain registered and accessible, leading to writes into freed memory when the device is opened.
