MAL-2026-10171: Malicious code in paysafe-node (npm) 0 The npm package paysafe-node version 1.0.0 contains malicious code that acts as a credential stealer. It masquerades as a legitimate Paysafe REST API client but runs an obfuscated exfiltration routine when SDK methods are called. This routine collects environment variables containing sensitive keywords and sends them along with system information to a remote host without user consent. The malware includes evasion techniques to avoid detection in sandbox or virtualized environments. There is no disclosed fix or opt-out for this behavior.
