The PyPI package 'ailaunchkit' version 0.1.2 is part of a malicious campaign involving several packages that include hidden malware functionality. These packages, used as dependencies, contain code to replace cryptocurrency wallet addresses with attacker-controlled ones, exfiltrate browser data, install malicious browser extensions, and establish remote control over infected devices. The campaign is linked to North Korea's 'Contagious Interview' threat actor group and targets cryptocurrency-related projects and interview assessments. The malicious code includes keylogging, clipboard modification, persistence mechanisms, and limited remote command execution.
