Malicious code in httpz-requests (PyPI) 0 The httpz-requests package on PyPI is a malicious package that masquerades as a legitimate HTTP client library but instead provides a Telegram bot interface for remote command execution. It enables an attacker to run arbitrary shell commands, exfiltrate files and environment variables, and maintain persistence on the infected host. The package is distributed as obfuscated compiled Cython binaries, making detection and analysis more difficult. It is designed to steal sensitive data such as cloud, CI, and API credentials by remotely controlling the host via Telegram commands.
