The pygame-renderkit package version 1.2.0 on PyPI contains malicious code embedded in its setup.py. During installation, it executes a base64-encoded payload that establishes a reverse shell to a hardcoded command-and-control server, exfiltrates sensitive environment variables and system files, and establishes persistence through cron jobs, systemd user services, and sudoers modifications.
