Malicious code in pp-react-v5 (npm) 0 The npm package 'pp-react-v5' is a malicious dependency confusion package published at inflated versions 10.0.0, 30.0.1, and 30.0.2. It contains no functional source code but includes preinstall and postinstall scripts that execute code on installation. These scripts collect sensitive environment information such as hostname, username, working directory, and local package metadata, then send this data to attacker-controlled endpoints. This results in unauthenticated disclosure of installer identity and environment details to the attacker.
