Malicious code in executor-engine (PyPI) 0 The executor-engine PyPI package versions 0.3.4 and 0.3.5 contain a malicious site-packages.pth file that executes obfuscated code on every Python interpreter start. This code downloads and runs a JavaScript infostealer using the Bun runtime, which collects sensitive data including API keys, credentials, cryptocurrency assets, and password manager data. The malicious code attempts persistence and propagation by publishing infected packages using stolen credentials and may perform destructive actions if invalid GitHub tokens are detected. The compromise appears to be a repackaging of a legitimate release with added malicious payloads, linked to the Mini Shai Hulud campaign.
