Malicious code in gethandler-api (npm) 0 The gethandler-api npm package version 0.0.1 contains malicious code that, upon installation, silently sends detailed installer environment information to a third-party webhook. This includes hostname, username, platform, working directory, package details, CI environment indicators, and a timestamp. The package is a defensive typo-squat placeholder but its behavior results in non-consensual fingerprinting of users who mistype the intended package name. The presence of this package on a system indicates a full compromise, and all secrets and keys on the affected machine should be rotated immediately from a different device.
