MAL-2026-6748: Malicious code in haproxy-config-client (PyPI) 0 The haproxy-config-client package version 8.5.3 on PyPI contains malicious code that executes during installation. This code downloads a Linux executable from remote servers using multiple fallback methods, including Cloudflare Workers and DNS TXT record reconstruction. The executable is saved with a partially random name, executed, and then deleted. The malicious payload contacts several domains, but further behavior details are unavailable. The package uses obfuscation and overrides the install command to evade detection and ensure execution. This campaign is categorized as malicious with intent consistent with malware and targeted attacks. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 07/03/2026, 22:43:15 UTC Added: 07/04/2026, 22:34:41 UTC |
