MAL-2026-6749: Malicious code in ipa-user-collector (PyPI) 0 The ipa-user-collector package version 8.5.3 on PyPI contains malicious code that executes during installation. The malicious code attempts to download and run a Linux executable from remote servers using multiple fallback methods, including Cloudflare Workers and DNS TXT record reconstruction. The executable is saved under a partially random name, executed, and then removed. The Linux executable contacts several domains, but its full behavior is not detailed. This package uses obfuscation, overrides the install command, and employs dependency confusion techniques to evade detection and persist. The campaign is clearly malicious, aiming to deliver malware and cover tracks. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 07/03/2026, 22:45:17 UTC Added: 07/04/2026, 22:34:41 UTC |
