MAL-2026-6751: Malicious code in bytekit (PyPI) 0 The PyPI package 'bytekit' versions 3.4.1 and 3.4.2 are part of a malicious campaign involving the 'procwire' package, which executes harmful code during installation. This campaign uses obfuscation and steganography to hide a URL that downloads and runs a remote executable, likely an infostealer. The malicious executable is executed and then quickly removed, indicating an attempt to evade detection. The 'procwire' package is also a dependency of 'confighub', spreading the malware further through dependencies.
