MAL-2026-6753: Malicious code in schemavault (PyPI) 0 The schemavault PyPI package versions 4.1.0 and 4.1.1 are part of a malicious campaign involving multiple interdependent packages. During installation, schemavault is used by the procwire package to execute obfuscated malicious code that downloads and runs a remote executable, likely an infostealer, which contacts a suspicious domain and then deletes itself. The malicious behavior is triggered by overriding the install command in setup.py and includes steganography to hide the malware URL. This campaign also affects other packages that depend on procwire, such as confighub, spreading the malware further.
