NeedyMantis is a modular post-compromise malware family used in targeted attacks against telecommunications, universities, medical nonprofits, intergovernmental organizations, and government contractors. Active since at least October 2025, it is deployed after initial access to maintain persistence and support further operations. The malware uses multiple loaders, custom encrypted archives, a custom executable format, DLL sideloading, WebSockets-based command-and-control, and RC4 encryption. Activity is linked to China-based threat actors, notably Storm-3069, following a supply chain compromise involving DAEMON Tools.
