0 Engrampa, the archive manager for the MATE environment, contains a Path Traversal vulnerability in its handling of CPIO archives. Exploiting this can lead to full Remote Command Execution (RCE) when a victim extracts a malicious archive. The vulnerability was fixed in commit 63d5dfa.
