A buffer overflow vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ALSA firewire-motu driver was fixed. The issue occurred in the hwdep_read() function for DSP event handling, where the code could write more bytes to a user buffer than requested if the buffer was smaller than the event header size (8 bytes).
