A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's FUSE (File system in Userspace) subsystem was fixed, addressing a missing copy_finish call in fuse-over-io-uring argument copies. This flaw could cause a reference count leak of payload pages during argument copying. The issue has been resolved in Linux kernel versions 6.17.0-1018.18 and later. The fix is available and included in Ubuntu security updates. Users should update and reboot to apply the patch. Due to an ABI change, recompilation and reinstallation of third-party kernel modules may be required.
