A vulnerability in the Linux kernel block layer subsystem was resolved by removing queue freezing from several sysfs store callbacks. The issue could cause a deadlock when used with the dm-multipath driver and the queue_if_no_path option, and also slow system boot on systems setting sysfs attributes synchronously. The fix removes unnecessary blk_mq_freeze_queue() and blk_mq_unfreeze_queue() calls from these callbacks. The update affects multiple sysfs attributes related to block device I/O behavior. The vulnerability has a medium severity with a CVSS score of 5.5 and does not impact confidentiality or integrity but can cause availability issues due to deadlocks.
