A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's dmaengine subsystem related to the ti dma-crossbar on am335x devices was resolved. The issue involved a device reference leak during route allocation. This vulnerability has been fixed in updated Linux kernel versions. The fix is included in various Linux kernel packages for Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and 22.04 LTS, including linux-aws. Users must update and reboot their systems to apply the fix. Due to an ABI change, recompilation of third-party kernel modules is required after updating.
