A deadlock vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Btrfs file system was fixed. The issue occurred in the wait_current_trans() function, which failed to consider transaction types properly when waiting for blocked transactions during start_transaction(). This flaw could cause a deadlock involving two transactions and pending ordered extents. The vulnerability affects multiple Linux kernel versions prior to specific patched releases. A fix is available and included in updated Linux kernel packages. Users should apply the updates and reboot to mitigate the issue.
