UBUNTU-CVE-2026-10645CVE-2026-10645
0

A vulnerability in the Zephyr ext2 filesystem driver allows crafted or corrupted ext2 images on attacker-controlled storage to cause out-of-bounds reads and writes when processing directory entries. This can leak adjacent kernel heap memory or cause denial of service via infinite loops. The issue affects Zephyr ext2 from version 3.5.0 through 4.4.0 and is triggered by any path-based operation or directory listing on a mounted ext2 volume. The vulnerability is due to improper validation of directory entry fields de_rec_len and de_name_len. A fix has been implemented to validate these fields and reject malformed entries.
